VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Diabetes Registry Volunteer

Input and maintain the diabetes registry for CHC patients. This volunteer opportunity is flexible, we are looking for someone to come into the clinic once a week and input patient information into a computer tracking program. The opportunity is open at all three of our clinic sites, Ashland, Medford and White City. Since basic comprehension of the diabetes information being inputed is necessary, the volunteer needs to have a clinical or nursing background and be comfortable using a computer. Training is provided by our CHC lab technicians.

Prescription Assistance Volunteer:  Assist patients in accessing prescriptions available to them through the pharmaceutical companies for prescription.  This is a very necessary step in ensuring that patients remain healthy and productive.

Outreach Volunteer:  Assist our Community Health Outreach Workeers in enrolling and re-enrolling Jackson Co. community members in the Oregon Health Plan.  Follow-up with patients on teh phone that have been given an application for health insurance, as well as patients that need to renew their application.

Special Event Volunteer:  For those who wish to be a part of special events when CHC is involved in outreach activities.  Examples include: informational booth at festivals, preparing activities/decorations for events

Immunization Clinic and Health Screenings Volunteer:  Help with immunization clinics offered at Community Health Center and/or involved in health screenings conducted at local elementary schools.  Responsibilities include crowd control, reading to students, providing direction and information to our patients.

Community Connector:  Over 3000 children in Jackson County are without a medical home.  It is the hope of Community Health Center to meet this need.  Help a child find a medical home by distributing information in the community and being an advocate for CHC.  Volunteer works at their own pace and schedule.

Front Office Volunteer:   Help with general filing, copying, data entry, mailing and making new charts.

Public Service Announcer:  In coordination with the Marketing Director, keep media list current and write public service announcements for various media.  This is a great way to express your creativity and support the mission of CHC.
