Foundation shortly before her death in 2000 to support organizations in a grant of $41,000 to expand the number of children enrolled and retained in publicly-sponsored insurance programs in Jackson County was awarded by the Oregon Community
Foundation. $31,700 of that amount came from the William and Florence Schneider Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. $4,650 was donated by the Providence Health Plan Community Benefits Fund of the Oregon Community
Foundation, and $4,650 was allocated by the Regence Community Health Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation.
A second-year $79,500 grant to continue the services of a mental health nurse and a community health outreach and eligibility worker for students and families residing in the Eagle Point School District has been donated by the Reed and Carolee Walker Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. The Walkers were long-time Ashland residents who established the fund to provide healthcare and enrichment services to low-income residents, especially children, of Jackson County.

$7,000 has been received from the Anna May Family Foundation to support our agency’s Emergency Prescription Medication program. The program provides prescription medications and diabetic supplies to working poor families who have no health insurance.
Anna May, a long-time Rogue Valley resident and accountant, established the CHC’s effort to provide uninsured children from low-income families with free initial health care visits, immunization updates and assistance in qualifying for publicly-sponsored health insurance programs has been bolstered by two recent grants.
